With that said, I might be writing some of my perceptions instead. I can perceive anything, from Derrick Rose’s new kicks to Coco Martin’s new movie or anything that can be reviewed. To conclude, it’s official; I’m not anymore writing articles in a monthly manner, unless I needed to. As we grow older and gray, we significantly change and we should accept that.

For Filipinos, every November is a celebration, but not this time. Last Saturday was a disastrous one, for about ½ of them. Manny Pacquiao, the people’s champ defeated Juan Manuel Marquez in a crucial match that caused a lot of boxing fans to react about the said fight.

Throughout the fight, both fighters gave their best shot as all of their hardwork have paid off, wrapping up the fight being strong by the final round. A new, but allegedly weaker Manny Pacquiao showed up that night with the classic hit “Eye of the Tiger” as his theme song. There were some highlights, too, such as both boxers giving each other some strong punches that motivated them to win it all, save for one moment.

During the tenth round, Marquez’s trainer, Nacho Beristain told the boxer that he’s winning the fight, which ended in an irony. Marquez even gracefully clenched his fists as he rose like a tiger and showed the world that he’s better than Manny Pacquiao. Then the final decision was announced as it turned out, he trailed Manny by two points, 115-113.

With that, some Mexican fans booed Pacquiao due to the desicion. Even some Filipinos and alike were disappointed with the decision. The common thing about them is that Marquez was the real winner of the said fight, and that Bob Arum allegedly paid the judges. We might remember that Arum already has a history of fixing boxing matches. (Watch the complete series, for you to be aware about this guy, or should I say a douchebag.)

This is pretty for sure, he might fight Floyd Mayweather on May 5 of 2012. As Pacquiao once said on the post-fight interview, “Let’s get it on.” The so-called “dream match” is coming. I hope so. A fourth Marquez-Pacquiao match might be in the works, too.

I’d like to congratulate him anyway, despite all of the controversies surrounding around him lately, on and off ring. Mabuhay ka, Manny! Kaya mo ‘yan!

Three years! Oh yes, three years! Time flew so fast. Indeed. Of all the three years I’ve been spending my time on updating the latest and the trendiest around the planet, I started to lose my interest on updating the latest around the metro, and lately, not even so often unlike before. Is this because as we get older, our interests would also change? We can say that. In my case, being fond of something is one of the few things I often change, from sports to music to comedy, you name it. Wow, I think I lied to the fact that I should update more that I should have been. (Yeah, I said that a year ago. Peep out my last anniversary entry)

Another factor may be yes, my move to Canada. As I’ve said last January, adjusting to the diverse culture of Canada put me into a test of challenge. Fortunately, I already climbed the top and is, as of this moment, ready to face more tasks in order to succeed in Canada. Genius eh?

I cannot promise but I guess I’ll just keep my blog by posting updates once or twice a month instead. All those factors carry me everyday and seriously, I kinda hate it. For now, here’s some of the news tidbits I have read and heard throughout my “writer’s block” (Oh yes, this one. That syndrome is a big factor, too. Okay.)

UPDATE:

* NBA still has a lockout and a new season in October is surely in doubt. Meanwhile, they have given joy to most Filipino basketball fans as they visited Manila, especially when a cluster of NBA superstars visited Manila to face the PBA All-Star selection and Smart Gilas where Kobe Bryant and company knocked them in both of those games. We’ll also include the latest visit of Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, who visited our country for the  third time.

* Congratulations to the Petron Blaze Blazers for winning the 2011 PBA Governor’s Cup after defeating the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters. The seven-game series was obviously a crucial one, especially the Texters were on their way to join Crispa, San Miguel, and Alaska as the only PBA squads to win the Grandslam. Too bad they wrapped up the season losing to the Blazers, but still, their hardwork was paid off. Big cheers to them, especially to Jimmy Alapag (2010-2011 PBA MVP)!

* RANDOM STUFF: VMAs yesterday? Amazing. 8/10 eh? ; Aragon to RP? Not bad.(More to come.)

Yesterday, after a disagreement regarding the Collective Bargain Agreement of the NBA, the league has officially locked down its players which led to “loss of jobs” and other sorts.

This is the third time in history that the league “suspended its operations”. It also happened during the summers of 1995 and 1998.

CONCLUSION: We’ll never know what will happen. Anything can happen, even in a millisecond or so. I just hope the lockout won’t be that long as the recent NFL lockout.

REMINDER: The Opening Ceremonies will be held at the Marikina Sports Complex on July 9th. An-Asian Games style ceremony will be featured plus PBA legend Olsen Racela as the carrier of the torch or more popularly known as the Olympic Torch. All athletes from different UAAP sports will participate the event plus no games will be held. A three-year preparation plus a one-of-a-kind event equals UAAP spirit. Kudos to Season 74 hosts Ateneo and the other seven schools of the UAAP.
