Let’s Get Physical! (Version 1.5)

by Jose Antonio A. Conde

Definitely, we should have a good life. Yet let’s give it a brief time to make out lives balanced. How? By having good excercise. Some of the things that we do during exercise time, let’s say push-up, jumping jacks, and using some equipment like hula hoops, sports balls, and sticks. Those things are called Calisthenics.

Calisthenics form a category of physical exercises closely related to, but not a part of, gymnastics. The name of the discipline is Greek in origin, a combination of the words kalos, ‘beautiful’ and sthénos, ’strength’. Well, indeed, that’s calisthenics.

Different countries have different kinds of  their set of caltisthenics. Most notably, excercise is involved. Anything about it. From running to jumping to stretching. Calisthenics also use some equipments like hula hoop, flags, towel, and others.

In celebration to our 23rd Foundation Day, all the students of the WEFI are going to demonstrate some of the things we do during excercise time. Here’s a brief list on what my fellow students are going to use:

Prepratory- Ring

Multilevel 1 and 2-

Flags Grade 1- Stick

Grade 2- Balls

Grade 3- Ribbon

Grade 4 and 5- Pompoms

Grade 6- Hula Hoop

Expect those would be fantastic. Ditto with the steps and the amazing music! Yet they are long, they are amazing, baby! Actually, each levels have their own banner, and also their own presentation. As today, I am here to present to you the winners for the Field Demonstration:

Best Banner- Pre-School (Colorful!)

Best Presentation- Grade 4 and 5 (Pompoms)

2nd: Grade 6

3rd: Grade 2

Well, I guess some of my schoolmates are tired doing this.  But doing this is really amazing and makes every person active and happy. So, come on, let’s get physical! Indeed!

The Young Once

Alfie Patten with Baby Maisie

Alfie Patten with Baby Maisie

A young father!? Well, that’s too unusual for a guy who’s still in the adolescence stage. Alfie Patten, a 13-yr. old guy, had (Premarital) sex with a 15-yr. old lady by the name of Chantelle. Both never expected to have a baby girl (who was later baby Maisie), and they made it into secret.

During Chantelle’s pregnancy period, she had plans to abort their child to hide his relationship and sex with Alfie.

Alfie, on the other hand, admitted that his voice has not yet been broken. Some even insisted that he looked like an 8-yr. old kid. Too unusual, as we say.

But they promised that they would feed their baby properly.

Sa Dungis ng Takot

This is a very shocking news, guys. From my contact in YM, here’s what my contact sent to me:

Saw this on TV Patrol (TY, Mr. Ryan Chua) . T@t@ng@-t@ng@naman kasi yung yaya eh. At umiiyak pa yung driver, sinabi niya pa na may mali rin ang ADMU Security, di daw masyadong mabilis alertuhin. Sa susunod kasi, mag-ingat.

Sorry for the offensive term. Basta, pray na lang natin siya at condolences po. Nakikiramay po kami.

Laban Tropa!

2008-09 KFC PBA Philippine Cup Champions

2008-09 KFC PBA Philippine Cup Champions

Those are the words Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan is going to say today. His Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters won the 2008-09 KFC-PBA Philippine Cup. They have upsetted Alaska Aces by 4 points, 89-93 at the Araneta Coliseum last February 11.

This was history for 2 of the great Philippine basketball moguls: Chot Reyes and Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan. Reyes won his 3rd All-Filipino crown, marking the first coach in PBA history to win 3 AFCs with 3 different teams. His previous crowns include 1993 AFC with Purefoods and 2002 AFC with Coca-Cola.

Mr. MVP, on the other hand, had his first ever grandslam in his Basketball career as a mogul and a contributor. Thanks to Smart Sports.  Having previously won with Ateneo and San Beda late last year made him happy,  making him the happiest Basketball mogul in the Philippines today.

There are some players from the Texters who won their first titles as players. And here are the players; Ren-Ren Ritualo, Mark Cardona, Yancy de Ocampo, Ranidel De Ocampo, rookies Rob Reyes, Jason Castro, Jared Dillinger, and Pong Escobal, Yousif Aljamal, and Ali Peek.

There are also a few players who prevuiously won titles before this championship: Gec Chia and Gilbert Lao. The only remaining holdovers from the 2003 All-Filipino Team are Harvey Carey and Jimmy Alapag.

Those 2 missed crucial freethrows by Alaska stalwart Willie Miller made him controversial. Some said that he “point shaved” and some said, it was just pressure.

The Finals MVP is Mark Cardona.

Congrats!

What’s in a scout? It can teach us good moral values and traits. As our school interprets that, last January 29 and 30, our school had its own annual camping.

As usual, we would start the day becoming responsible by doing some neither props or “team banners”. Creativity is the path during that time.  Aside from showing our skills on arts, we would also share our talents by becoming quick and smart. We should follow our good and moral patrol leaders.

At night, a talent show was helded, six groups made their best on dancing different kinds of music and on how to act like a movie actor. Furthermore, that night for every student was really amazing.

By the way, here are the awardees for the respective groups:

Bughawan

Pepeton Conde: Model Scout of the Year

Best in Commercial

Best in Knot Tying

3rd Place- Dancing Contest

Luntian

2nd Place- Dancing Contest

Victor Gusi: Best Assistant Leader of the Year

Dilawan

1st Place- Dancing Contest

Best in Patrol Making

Best Overall Patrol

Juan Rafael Tambongco: Patrol Leader of the Year

Attention! Let’s remember that every citizen should be good models.

PUBLIC OPINION: GMA Network, Inc. vs. Gary Granada

Famous composer Gary Granada is having his worthy battle vs. the GMA Kapuso Foundation, a subsidary of television network GMA-7. He accused the station of stealing one of his compositions which was a Public campaign jingle. Here’s a link regarding his latest battle:

http://soundcloud.com/dosomethingworthwhile/gary-granada-vs-gma-kapuso

OPINION:

Ngayon-ngayon lang ito! Sa totoo lang, na-offend ako. Maganda nga yung ginawa ng Granada. Bata nga yung kumanta eh. Diba sila naman ang nangangailangan ng edukasyon? Ayanako, to GMA, please give people chances. Bakit pa kasi si Manilyn kasi yung kumanta? O kaya kaboses niya? Dapat inaapreciate nyo yan eh. Siya ang gumawa. Dapat sinama niyo siya doon, kasi he provided the music.

Just remember that Gary Granada is a great composer. He was responsible for some jingles like those Ginebra championships between 1997 until 2007. He is already a great music mogul throughout the years. Igalang nyo siya.

Kapag ginawa niyo, i-accept niyo. Kapag ayaw, pagawa nyo ulit o kaya sabihin niyo:

“SORRY, MR GRANADA. BUT, WE ARE NOT GOING TO USE YOUR SAMPLE. PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER ONE”

Wag na wag kayo magnakaw. Please be kind-hearted. To GMA: Interpret the word KAPUSO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaya maraming ayaw sa inyo eh. Matanong ko nga si Marian Rivera.

Sir Gary, we will support you.

If you want to have a single time with him, please send him some support via this e-mail:

Salamat!
