Yes, it will be true, but people will begin doubting about it. Next season, the defenind NBA MVP LeBron James is about to wear #6, as he wanted everyone not to wear #23 again next season, despite seeing the greatest Basketball player ever, Michael Jordan, and here’s his take:

“I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon. There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Dwyane Wade if there wasn’t Michael Jordan first. He can’t get the logo, and if he can’t, something has to be done. I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. I’m starting a petition, and I’ve got to get everyone in the NBA to sign it. Now, if I’m not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it.”

-LeBron James

And yeah, he wanted to petition this just because he saw Michael Jordan because he really wanted to honor Jordan, in a simple way. Another thing is that he wanted to choose #6 as his number for the next few seasons because it means a few things to his life, first, he used this during the time the US men’s basketball team won the Gold Medal during the Beijing Olympics last year, wherein he is a member. Second, his first kid was born on the 6th day while his second child was born on the sixth month, June. And lastly, he idolized Julius Erving, who according to him is his second greatest player ever seen, next to MJ.

So far, the current NBA players who wear #23 are the following: Stephen Graham (Bobcats), CJ Watson (Warriors), Marcus Camby (Clippers), Jodie Meeks (Bucks), Devin Brown (Hornets), Toney Douglas (Knicks), BJ Mullens (Thunder), Lou WIlliams (76ers), Jason Richardson (Suns), Martell Webster (Trailblazers), Kevin Martin (Kings), and Wes Matthews (Jazz).

So expect this to happen.
