JOHN WALL GETS #1 PICK IN THE 2010 NBA DRAFT

Rookies, oh rookies! The 2010 NBA Draft happened yesterday at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Ironically, one man made history, as he led the batch with a bang.  This former HS prospect-turned Wildcat has comAmitted himself to turn pro. His name? John Wall, the first Kentucky Wildcat to do so. He was drafted by the Washington Wizards, a team who was marred with controversies including star Gilbert Arenas’ gun controversy and so as his teammates.

He’ll wear #2.

LAKERS BEAT CELTICS FOR 16TH TITLE

How sweet it is! The Los Angeles Lakers defeated their biggest rival in Boston Celtics to win their second straight title and 16th overall moments ago at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The final score was 83-79.

The game was one of the most thrilling games in NBA history as the game was all Celtics as they were determined to bring back their 2008 hunch but Ron Artest and Pau Gasol’s crucial plays created a “Showtime comeback” until they ended up winning. Celtics coach Doc Rivers thought of using all of his usual players during the final period until 0.0 clock ticked down. What a game. This serves as LA’s revenge on their 2008 loss against the Celtics, who had the same core from the 2008 team. Now almost all of the Lakers have 2 rings, and so as 5-time Champs Derek Fisher and Bryant, and 11-time champion Coach Phil Jackson (plus 2 from his playing days)

Finals MVP Kobe Bryant did not perform pretty well until he broke the ice and scored crucial baskets which gave him his second straight Bill Russell Award with 23 points. His series averages are. According to him, this was the sweetest championship he ever tasted.

The defending champions will hold a parade Monday, with the team riding floats from Staples Center down Figueroa Street to the USC campus in downtown Los Angeles. A rally at the great  Coliseum last year attracted 95,000 fans, but the Lakers are skipping the arena in favor of a more interactive celebration, the team said.

BOXSCORES:

BOSTON (77) – P. Pierce- 18, K. Garnett – 17,  R. Rondo – 14, R. Allen – 13, R. Wallace – 11, G. Davis – 6, T. Allen – 0, N. Robinson – 0, B. Scalabrine – 0

L.A. LAKERS (81) – K. Bryant – 23, R. Artest – 20, P. Gasol – 19,  D. Fisher – 10, L. Odom – 7, A. Bynum – 2, S. Vujacic – 2, S. Brown – 0, J. Farmar – 0, J. Powell – 0

QUARTERSCORES: 23-14, 40-34, 57-53, 77-81

One of the funniest IMO.

IT’S FINAL: NOYBI TAKES OVER PHILIPPINES

Finally, after nine long years of economic resurgence and rise of poverty under the incumbent president, the honorable Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,  two new leaders will take over our beloved Philippines.

Last Wednesday, June 9, with an attendance of star-studded with the likes of  Ogie Alcasid, ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio, and others, the inaguration of the new president and vice president were set in the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City. The new leaders of our country are Pres.-elect Sen. Noynoy Aquino and VP-elect Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay.

As usual, both leaders came with their respective families, as many people plus an exclusive coverage from big-time networks witnessed his inaguration.

Here’s the final tally over their nearest rival:

For President

Aquino – 15,208,678

Estrada – 9,487,837

For Vice President

Binay – 14,645,574

Roxas -13,918,490

Aquino’s rival Estrada have already conceded and is willing to help Pres. Noynoy. Roxas, meanwhile, kept quiet and is looking for an electoral protest.
