Jeffrey Cariaso wrapped up his career in a celebrating mood. Yesterday, the Alaska Aces won their 13th overall PBA title by defeating San Miguel Beermen with the score of 88-102 at the Araneta Coliseum. LA Tenorio and Cyrus Baguio won the co-Final MVPs during the finals.

After three years of struggles, the Alaska Aces finally climbed to the top, even without former franchise player Willie Miller. Throughout those seasons, some came and go, but majority remained intact. After a bad finish during the last year’s conference, they recruited an underrated import in Diamon Simpson and with him leading the way, the Aces became stronger, so strong they even traded Miller upon his request to Ginebra for Cyrus Baguio.

This 13th title, according to team owner Wilfred Uytengsu, served as a tribute to his late father, who died earlier in this conference
